WALKABOUT CREEK COMMUNITY
Preserving nature together
At Walkabout Creek Events Venue, we not only provide exceptional service, food, and spaces for events, but also take great pride in our role preserving Australia’s natural places, and its unique native wildlife. Nestled in D’Aguilar National Park, fewer than 12km from Brisbane CBD, we are lucky to be situated in one of the country’s most distinct rainforest environments. One that we continue to be committed to preserving, and keeping Brisbane’s closest natural sanctuary, wild.
Our collaboration with the not-for-profit Queensland Parks & Wildlife Services bolsters the fantastic work done at Walkabout Creek wildlife centre. Where vulnerable Australian wildlife is given a second chance to thrive, and the public gets the rare opportunity to observe and learn about these fantastic creatures. Sustaining this great work is an ongoing task that we are proud to support. With a percentage of proceeds from our café and from every event hosted at Walkabout Creek, going directly to this wonderful cause.
TURRBAL & YUGGERA PEOPLE
Walkabout Creek would also like to acknowledge the importance of the area, particularly preserved as an unspoiled environment, one that can be experienced by future generations, to the Turrbal and Yuggera peoples. The first Australians to protect, celebrate, explore, educate and live on this land. As well as the land on which we today, work, play, learn and live. We pay our respect to elders past, present and emerging, and continue to strive to preserve these traditions in everything we do at Walkabout Creek.
